Affiliate FAQ

Our affiliate program gives you the opportunity to earn commissions for referring new customers who purchase a Starter WP website plan. To sign up, click here.

You can apply to our affiliate program at starterwp.com/affiliate. If approved, you will be emailed your tracking link, portal log-in information, and other helpful tips to get started.

If you've purchased a website plan from Starter WP, your account was automatically enrolled in our affiliate program and you can log-in using your website username and password here.

Commissions are structured as one-time payments for new purchases.

For website plans, you will earn a minimum of $150 or 10% of the setup fee, whichever is higher. For example, a Pro plan at $2,000 would earn you $200 in commission, but a Business plan starting at $10,000 would earn $1,000 in commission.

We require that 30 days since sign-up have passed. This allows us to ensure all referrals are legitimate and retain the integrity of our affiliate program.

We process all locked commissions on the first business day of each week.

You should see the payout arrive in your account in 2-5 days for US-based affiliates. International affiliate payouts may take up to 14 days.

Sales are tracked when a customer clicks through your affiliate link and completes a purchase. When a link is clicked, it places a cookie on the browser and will track any sale that takes place within a certain period. If the customer successfully signs up with your affiliate link within 60 days, your account will be credited with the referral commission. For the privacy of our customers, the account name is not shown to protect any personally identifiable information.

Note: There are factors beyond our control that can impact affiliate link tracking. The most common are cookie and ad blocker extensions installed in web browsers.

To view any tracked sales you have made, click the 'Referrals' tab within the Affiliate Portal. From here you can see the sale reference ID, amount, and referral status.

Your affiliate link will be provided to you in a confirmation email shortly after you are approved. You can view the full inventory of links and banner ads in the Affiliate Portal. When logged in, select 'Affiliate URLs' to view your existing referral URLs and create custom URLs that can link to specific pages with your tracking code.

There are a few reasons why a sale may not track correctly. Whether it is due to caching, a cookie not firing, or your link being used incorrectly, our affiliate team can investigate the issue for you. In order to claim credit for a missing referral, you must notify us within 30 days of the purchase date and will be required to provide certain information to verify the account details. You can email us affiliates@starterwp.com to claim missed referrals.

We restrict custom coupons to our top-performing partners on a case-by-case basis. All of our partners start with access to generic promotional codes that we create from time to time. As your performance increases, the further we are able to build upon the relationship and determine what would best suit your audiences. If you feel you have made significant performance as a partner and would like to discuss this, you can email us at affiliates@starterwp.com.

This is up to you! Ideal locations for links include reviews, comparison pieces, newsletters, video descriptions, ebooks/guides, headers, and footers—the more relevant the content, the better when it comes to placing your links.

Please note that we only allow affiliate links to be placed on your own domains. For example, if you wish to refer customers through platforms such as YouTube or Facebook, you will need to link off to a landing page containing your affiliate link.

There are multiple reasons why your commission might have been voiced. The most common reason for voided commissions is customer cancellation. If you want more information about a specific transaction, please email the reference ID to the team at affiliates@starterwp.com.

We do not issue commissions for plan upgrades and any add-ons. Affiliate commissions are earned on new Starter WP website plan sign-ups only.

Direct linking is expressly forbidden in our program. Any affiliates found to be direct linking will have any pending commissions voided and be removed from the program.
